About Me

I trained at London University (BMus Hons), The Royal Academy of Music (ARAM) and the American Opera Centre at The Juilliard School in New York. I was the first British winner of The New York Oratorio Society International Soloist Competition at Carnegie Hall. I have appeared in opera houses and concert halls around the world, both as a baritone (for 20 years), and as a tenor (for 10 years).

As a baritone my roles included Germont (La Traviata –  over 100 performances), Rigoletto (title role), Figaro (Il Barbiere), Enrico (Lucia), Marcello (La Boheme), Forester (Vixen), Shishkov (House of the Dead), Mandryka (Arabella), Wolfram (Tannhauser), as well as Carmina Burana, Messiah etc, on the concert platform.

As a tenor, roles included Don Jose (Carmen), Cavaradossi (Tosca), Pinkerton (Butterfly), Calaf (Turandot), Des Grieux (Manon Lescaut), Peter Grimes (title role), Herman (Queen of Spades), as well as Dream of Gerontius, Verdi Requiem etc, in concert. I have sung as principal artist with, among others, The Royal Opera House, Welsh National Opera, English National Opera, Scottish Opera, The Glyndebourne Festival, Maggio Musicale Florence, Edinburgh Festival, BBC Proms, as well as the opera houses of Nice, Modena, Turin, Madrid, Tokyo, Rio de Janeiro etc. I have also appeared as soloist with The London Symphony Orchestra, The Philharmonia, The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, The Nash Ensemble, The London Sinfonietta, as well as many other international ensembles and orchestras.
